Story of Vivekananda House at Virginia Tech
Hindu YUVA at Virginia Tech was started in 2020 and soon became an active student organization. The Vivekananda House at Virginia Tech was established in 2025 due to a need for a Hindu space near campus. Blacksburg, VA has an incredibly diverse community but a marked lack of Hindu spaces near campus, the nearest mandir being an hour away. We wanted to provide such a space and create a stronger community. The Virginia Tech VH is one of only two all-female residency Vivekananda Houses in the country!
Life at VH at Virginia Tech
Vivekananda House at VT hosts many Dharmic and Cultural activities. The House features comfortable living quarters for residents, a mandir/pooja area, a hall, and a vegetarian kitchen. Though this is our first year established, we hope to host events such as aartis, Gita studies, and bhajan nights this upcoming year.
