Story of Vivekananda House at UIUC

Hindu YUVA (a Hindu student organization) was started at UIUC in 2017 by Hindu Students with the help of faculty on the campus.  The Hindu YUVA at UIUC soon became a very active and vibrant student organization.

Following the Iowa State University, the Vivekananda House at UIUC was established in a leased house in Fall 2019 in response to the increasing demand from the student community, especially undergraduates. The students loved it!  Several successful events took place at the house and a decision was made to look for a house to buy. Once the purchase agreement was signed, the Hindu Society of America (HSA) team set out to raise the money for the down payment and closing costs. With generous contributions from donors, HSA was able to raise the required funds to make this purchase possible.

Vivekananda House at UIUC is also recognized officially by the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Please click here for more info about it on their directory.
