Story of Vivekananda House at UT Austin
Hindu YUVA at UT Austin became a registered student organization in 2010, kickstarting their year with the first Ganesh Chaturthi celebration in the fall. For the last 15 years, the chapter has grown to be recognized amongst faculty and students within the larger UT community. The Vivekananda House at UT Austin was inaugurated August 24th, 2025 with the three female residents and the Hindu YUVA team at UT. The diverse community at UT has seen the establishment of prayer spaces for many religions, except Hinduism. The VH will provide the long awaited space for Hindus at UT to conduct poojas, satsang, and bhajans in a mandir-like environment near campus.
Life at VH at UT Austin
Vivekananda House at UT plans to host a variety of Dharmic and cultural activities, such as poojas on special occasions such as Diwali, Navratri, and Mahashivaratri. Additionally, we plan on hosting Satsang, Bhajans, and daily evening Aartis in the mandir space.
